Our mission is to approach each project with a holistic vision, and we commit to designing spaces that are a true reflection of the clients living or working in them. We turn houses into homes, and our Nordic inspired eclectic approach to design is ever evolving and always inspired by each new client and experience.
Our firm is available to assist in all aspects of a project from start to finish including consulting with architects and builders, as well as providing a tailor-made approach to finishes and decor. We’ll transform each space into a functional beauty with millwork, lighting, finishes & accessories and provide you with custom pieces tailor-made for the spaces you inhabit. Nature inspired finishes, functional interiors, distinctive millwork, unexpected color and pattern, unique lighting, and textural accents are elements that define a residence designed by Flat Pack Kitchen Design. |

FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Melinda holds a master's degree design in interior design (M.I.D.) where she started her first design firm in Boston, MA. Her design passion began with her 1st design firm Mistura Interior Design based out of Boston Massachusetts concentrating in large commercial institutional, private aviation, & healthcare spaces across the US & internationally in the middle east & South America. Flat Pack was created in the midst of Covid. Initially designing Ikea kitchens around the US in person & online. She was introduced into the new construction multi-unit residential market in 2020 designing her 1st, 8-unit condo development for The Dowell Group at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. Today a majority of her work includes work with some of Chicago's largest developers pioneering the neutral Nordic vibe weaving in unexpected color and pattern, which creates her eclectic signature style that she has become known for. Melinda currently lives & works in the heart of Lincoln Park in Chicago. Her unique heritage of Ecuadorian & Norwegian parents has inspired her design style that is ever evolving. No matter what style she is asked to create, each space designed by Melinda feels refined, livable and truly unique. |
